The devastating drought of 2018 set a new low for our farmers. While some organised support by government bodies, corporates and volunteer fundraisers are essential and provide some relief, there is a glaring lack of co-ordination that would ensure every farmer that needs a hand, some more than others, is known to those that can help.

Our Mission

As a small team of software developers, we thought about how we could maximise our efforts and contribute to our farmers' needs. Being Sydney based, having no trucks or bails of hay at our disposal, passing the hat around seemed like a meager effort. Not shying away from our skills in problem solving, it seemed obvious to do what we know best. The daily news articles made it clear to us, there is a need for orchestration and co-ordination. Our small team of enthusiastic creatives have teamed up to chip in and came up with the concept for this web site.

Ideally, we would like to see all farmers and related businesses to come on board and list their needs so that a co-ordinated effort could be maintained and known supplies and resources distributed to those that need it the most.

Our goals

  • Utilise social media to promote the concept of central registration
  • Utilise Press Media, TV and Radio to promote the concept, while the nation is in the mood to help
  • Ensure that all available resources find their needy recipients
  • Seek corporate sponsorship to grow the database and provide staff that could actively monitor the database, assist in uniting the needy with the providers and liaise with relevant organisations to maximise the assistance distribution
  • Simply help our farmers
